Dorchester man found guilty for fatal 2018 stabbing

BOSTON — On Friday, a Suffolk County jury found a Dorchester man guilty in a 2018 fatal stabbing.

Ramon Rodriguez-Delgado, 48, was charged with first-degree murder of 77-year-old Marcelino Perez of Dorchester.

According to a July 2018 investigation, Delgado was living in a building across from Perez, when on July 26, an individual arrived at Perez’s apartment to deliver money from a private lottery that Perez was involved in.

Surveillance footage showed that the individual and Perez entered Perez’s home shortly before 2 p.m. The individual dropped the money off and left the apartment. Afterward, Delgado entered the apartment and exited 3 separate times, each dressed in different clothing. Perez was later found with a multitude of stab wounds.

Delgado was arrested on August 27, 2018, in connection to the murder.

Delgado is expected in Suffolk Superior Court on Monday, December 23 to be sentenced.
