CAMBRIDGE, Mass. — An electric bike rider was taken to the hospital with a serious injury after being hit by a garbage truck in Cambridge Thursday.
Cambridge police responded to Murdock and Prospects Street around 7:30 a.m. for the reported collision, a department spokesperson told Boston 25 News,
Responding officers found the cyclist suffering from a serious leg wound and rushed him to a nearby hospital. The cyclist’s injuries are non-life-threatening, police say.
The trash truck was pulling out onto Hampshire Street when the crash happened.
The road was closed while officials responded.
A Boston 25 News crew captured damage to the front end of the garbage truck.
The crash remains under investigation.
