Crash in wintry conditions knocks out power to Dedham neighborhood

DEDHAM, Mass. — Some residents in Dedham were without power Friday evening after a car collided with a pole amid slick conditions.

Dedham police first alerted drivers that a car had hit and knocked down a pole at the intersection of Washington Street and Pacella Drive around 1:45 p.m.

Dedham police told drivers to avoid Highland Street and that the road was blocked between Chute Road and Federal Lane.

The traffic lights at Washington Street and Elm Street were knocked out.

Dedham saw several inches of snow.

Dedham police said they had responded to seven crashes since mid morning.

“Please slow down. We have not had much snow for a few years. It is slippery,” Dedham police said.
