CHELMSFORD, Mass. — A crash involving a tractor-trailer and a car wiped out a large section of guardrail, causing lengthy delays on Interstate 495 in Chelmsford on Thursday morning.
Troopers responding to a report of a crash on the northbound side of the highway near mile marker 85.2 just after 4 a.m. found significant guardrail damage, according to Massachusetts State Police.

There were no injuries or fuel spills reported in the crash.
Aerial video captured by a Boston 25 drone showed traffic backed up for miles as crews worked to clear the wreckage.

All lanes were opened around 8 a.m. but state police warned of residual traffic delays in the area.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
