RINDGE, N.H. — New Hampshire authorities arrested two people in connection with the death of a 25-year-old Keene man.
Jonathan Amerault’s body was discovered in Atkinson and Gilmanton Academy Grant in Coos County on Tuesday, September 22. Medical examiners determined Amerault died from a gunshot wound to the head.
According to court documents, police say Amerault was having an affair with a co-worker named Britany Barron. Police spoke with Barron who told them her husband Armando went through her phone and discovered that she and Amerault were having an affair. She alleged that Armando assaulted her in their home, punching her in the face several times before allegedly placing a gun in her mouth and strangling her until she passed out.
Court documents allege that 30-year-old Armando Barron of Jaffrey, NH used his wife Britany’s phone to lure Amerault to Annette Wayside Park in Rindge sometime between the overnight hours of September 18 and 19 where he allegedly shot him in the head.
Police arrested and charged Armando Barron Friday, September 25 with capital murder for “knowingly causing the death of Jonathan Amerault while engaged in the commission of a kidnapping.”
According to court documents Armando is also facing domestic violence charges.
Police arrested 31-year-old Britany on Thursday, September 24 and charged with three counts of falsifying physical evidence in-conjunction with Amerault’s murder for altering, destroying, concealing, or removing items of physical evidence when she knew an investigation was pending or about to be instituted with a purpose to impair their verity or availability.
