WOODBURY, Connecticut — A Connecticut State Police sergeant was killed in flooding Thursday after heavy rain from the remnants of Ida moved through the area.
Sergeant Brian Mohl’s vehicle was found Thursday morning in Woodbury, Connecticut. His body, which was not in the vehicle, was found about an hour later, Connecticut officials said.

The trooper, a 26-year veteran in law enforcement, had previously called that he was in distress, after an emergency call he made around 3:30 a.m. reporting that he was trapped in swift water.
The trooper was a senior sergeant in the Connecticut State Police.
