DOUGLAS, Mass- — Boston 25 Chief Meteorologist Kevin Lemanowicz visited the entire 3rd grade at Douglas Elementary School Tuesday. There were tons of questions to answer from these smart students.
A video of Boston 25 Meteorologist Vicki Graf giving a behind-the-scenes look at our station was shown to the students, as well as a video showing a clip of Kevin’s forecast.
Interaction was encouraged and the students were happy to oblige. Volunteers demonstrated how the seasons change by playing the roles of the sun and earth. Then, chairs were brought in to help demonstrate how air moves up and down based on changing temperatures due to the sun heating the earth unequally, eventually leading to the air moving north and south across the northern hemisphere.
