After a deadline trade request and Boston’s continued presence in NBA trade whispers, Payton Pritchard’s relationship with the Celtics may be in flux. But the guard is still feeling the love.
Pritchard recently popped the question on a Cape Cod beach, according to his fiancée, Emma MacDonald’s Instagram.
“A love for a lifetime,” she captioned it.
MacDonald co-hosts the “Love Ya, Bye” podcast and vlogs on YouTube.
Pritchard is entering his fourth season in the NBA since being drafted out of Oregon with the 26th pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. After seeing consistent rotation minutes as a member of Boston’s 2022 Finals team, Pritchard saw his playing time dip last year after the Celtics traded for Malcolm Brogdon and the former Oregon Duck was suddenly looking up at three experience point guards on the depth chart. At the 2023 Trade Deadline, Pritchard told The Athletic he hopes to find a place where he can play more. Pritchard has reportedly reiterated his desire to be traded again this summer, but Boston’s decision to trade Marcus Smart to Memphis may have paved the way for Pritchard and the Celtics to save their happy marriage.
Photographer Chase McCann shared how he shot his friend’s proposal on TikTok.
