Bruins acquire forward prospect Shane Bowers in trade with Colorado

BOSTON — The Bruins made their second trade in three days Saturday, acquiring forward prospect Shane Bowers from the Colorado Avalanche in exchange for goaltender Keith Kinkaid.

Bowers, 23, has appeared in one game with the parent club this season. Bowers has played in 154 career AHL games, all with the Colorado Eagles.

Bowers is no stranger to the Boston area. The Novia Scotia native spent two years at Boston University, registering 53 points in 77 career games.

Kinkaid, 33, has appeared in Boston’s net just once this year. The 10-year NHL veteran was in his in the midst of his first season with the Bruins.
