BROCKTON, Mass. — On Sunday, a house fire in Brockton prompted fire crews to respond.

Crews were dispatched at 8:17 a.m. to 44 Thompson Avenue to reports of a heavy fire at a multi-story home.

When crews arrived, they noticed the fire was coming from the rear side of the home that extended from the basement all the way to the attic.

Crews were able to extinguish the fire in 20 minutes, with the home suffering approximately $50,000 worth of damage.

Initial investigations believe the fire was caused by a hot tub, but still remains under investigation.

No injuries were reported, but due to the temperature, icy conditions formed and several firefighters suffered minor injuries due to slipping, but non were transported to the hospital.
