Boston school bus drivers call for postponement of first day

BOSTON — Students head back to class on Thursday but there’s a major red flag about how thousands of them will get to class.

The union that represents bus drivers in the city is calling on the district to delay the start of school because of what they’re calling “massive” problems with bus routes.

As we’ve been reporting, it’s estimated the bus company is short about 60 drivers, but in a statement Wednesday morning, the company says the routing plan is the worst they’ve ever seen.

Boston 25 News anchor Jason Law is heading to an event with Mayor Kim Janey where he plans to ask her about this request.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
