BOSTON — As another Thanksgiving comes to an end, not everyone got to enjoy it at home with family and friends. Some people were hard at work on this holiday.
On a day most places closed for Thanksgiving, some businesses on Newbury Street stayed open.
“A lot of students stay in Boston, couldn’t reunion with their families I guess so we wanted to provide service to them,” said Jerry Gul of Ten One Tea House.
Warm tea on a brisk night kept Gul pouring customers cup after cup. “It’s pretty busy today,” said Gul.
For people who wanted to leave the cooking up to someone else, the French restaurant, La Voile had them covered.
“A lot of people international like me don’t have much family here so instead of being home with one or two people, you go outside and have this nice atmosphere of celebrating,” says Alex Sogfer, an employee at La Voile.
And what’s dinner without dessert. At Amorino Boston, the sweet tooth needs were met.
“We wanted to be able to give everyone a tasty treat on a day like this,” says Xavier Laplante, an employee at Amorino Boston.
“We just celebrated our Thanksgiving dinner. My parents flew in from Portland, Oregon and we typically always end our meals together with ice cream when they come out here,” says Paolo Casas, a customer at Amorino Boston.
This is a developing story. Check back for updates as more information becomes available.
