BOSTON — Boston police are asking for the public’s help identifying the suspect who allegedly stole a purse from a toy drive on Sunday.

Boston police say the woman was seen rifling through the belongings of people at the Allston-Brighton Toy Drive between 6:15 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Sunday evening. The woman, described as an Asian woman, eventually stole a patron’s purse, according to police.

“The Boston Police Department is thoroughly investigating this matter. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact District D-14 Detectives at (617) 343-4256,” police said in a release.
