BOSTON — Boston Police are investigating a double shooting on New Year’s Day that left one dead and another injured.
According to police, officers responded to a report of a person shot in the area of 1601 Blue Hill Ave a little before 6 a.m.
Police say upon arrival they found a male victim suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members identified the deceased victim as 33-year-old Jymall Cox.
Officers said they found a second male victim in the area suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The second victim was transported to a local area hospital for treatment.
Police are currently investigating. This is Boston’s first deadly shooting in 2023.
