Body pulled from Charles River Thursday identified as 55-year-old missing man

BOSTON — Authorities have identified the body that was pulled from the Charles River in Boston on Thursday afternoon.

The body has been identified as 55-year-old Tale Assalif. The Cambridge man was reported missing to police after not showing up to his job on Wednesday, according to Massachusetts State Police. He was last seen by his family on Tuesday.

Police responded to the area of the Boston University Sailing Pavilion where they recovered the body at the shoreline around 12:30 p.m., according to Massachusetts State Police.

Police did not find any external signs of trauma or violence on the body.

The investigation remains open pending the results of the autopsy.
