‘Armed and dangerous’ Medford suspect taken into custody, police say

MEDFORD, Mass. — Authorities arrested a suspect they had been searching for on Thursday.

Medford Police say 31-year-old Anderson Otoni Nascimento has been taken into custody after being wanted for a home invasion in their city.

Details of the alleged crime and his arrest were not immediately available, although police say the incident is related to domestic violence.

Officials say he has ties to Medford, Watertown, Somerville, and Newton and that he was considered “armed and dangerous.”

“We extend our thanks to everyone who shared this post, particularly the Brazilian community, whose support was instrumental in ensuring Otoni-Nascimento’s capture,” a police spokesperson said.
