REVERE, Mass. — The largest free event in Massachusetts kicks off at Revere Beach this weekend bringing hundreds of thousands of competitors and spectators from around the world to participate.
The annual International Sand Sculpting Festival starts Friday at 8 p.m. but sculptors have been hard at work preparing their masterpieces Thursday morning.
The three-day competition occupies a lengthy footprint on Revere Beach and features multiple event stages, local artisans and food vendors, spectacular large-scale sand sculptures, and on Saturday night, a fireworks display.
This year’s theme is King Kong which is the centerpiece on the beach.
Make sure to keep an eye on the Festival’s website for any potential changes due to weather.
