BOSTON — Aerosmith on Monday announced a farewell tour that includes a stop in the band’s hometown of Boston on New Year’s Eve.
The iconic American rock band will embark on a 40-date run of shows beginning in September, the Associated Press reported . Their farewell tour, called “Peace Out,” will mark the last time fans will get to celebrate the rock band’s 50-plus years together.
“You never know how much longer everybody’s going to be healthy to do this. … It’s been a while since we’ve actually done a real tour. We did that run in Vegas, which was great. It was fun, but (we’re) kind of anxious to get back on the road,” guitarist Joe Perry told the AP.

“I think it’s about time,” Perry added.
Other stops include Chicago, Washington D.C., Atlanta, Seattle, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Nashville, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Charlotte, and New York City
Live Nation says the general online sale begins on May 5.

“We’re opening up Pandora’s Box one last time to present our fans with the Peace Out tour,” Steven Tyler said in a statement to the AP. “Be there or beware as we bring all the toys out of the attic. Get ready.”
All band members are now over the age of 70 with Tyler being the oldest at 75.
The band said drummer Joey Kramer decided not to take part in the tour to “focus his attention on his family and health,” according to the AP.
Last week, the band teased their upcoming tour at venues across the country. An image of the band’s wing logo was displayed at venues around the country, including outside an entrance to the TD Garden.
Perry, Tyler, and company last performed in Boston at their Fenway Park show in Sept. 2022.
Aerosmith was formed in Boston in 1970 under the name the Jam Band.
