Reading police investigating incident after man seen jumping from window

READING, Mass. — Reading police are investigating an incident where they say a man jumped from a window Friday morning.

Reading police were called to the area of 83 Prescott Street around 8:30 a.m. after someone called 911 saying they heard yelling coming from a home. The 911 caller then said they saw a man jump from a window and get into a car outside, which then pulled away.

Soon after, police found the man sitting on the sidewalk a block away from the home where the incident allegedly took place. Police say he had multiple deep lacerations and cuts which police believed were caused by a knife and broken glass from the window.

The man was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Officials checked the home and determined no one else was there.

Prescott Street remains closed from Woburn to Sunnyside Street.

Police say there is no threat to the community. They are continuing to investigate.
