BOSTON — Flags set up in the Public Garden to remember the victims killed in the Sept. 11 terror attacks were uprooted overnight. Boston Police, who are investigating the apparent vandalism, confirmed to Boston 25 News that a suspect had been identified and located, and that the suspect had been offered services by BPD’s outreach team.
That suspect will be summonsed to court on vandalism charges.
Dozens of young volunteers from Project 351 placed nearly 3,000 flags at The Garden of Remembrance in the Boston Public Garden on Wednesday. Boston 25 News crews saw a passerby stop Thursday morning to help pick up some of the flags that were knocked over.
