YARMOUTH, Mass. — Five residents of a Cape Cod nursing home recently died after a COVID-19 outbreak at the facility, health officials said.
The Windsor Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in South Yarmouth has been receiving help from a state-supported Rapid Response Team that has been tasked with assisting with resident care and infection control since Feb. 28, according to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
Since March 4, there have been 75 resident COVID cases and 19 staff COVID cases at the facility, in addition to the handful of deaths, the DPH said.
A total of six residents have died at the facility since March 2020.
The Rapid Response Team consists of licensed nurses and certified nursing assistants who have been helping with medication administration, and support with eating, toileting, and bathing.
Health officials are continuing to monitor the outbreak.
