EASTON, Mass. — Easton Police responded to two separate car crashes within half an hour of each other on Friday night, which left four people hurt in one accident and a pedestrian hit by a car in the other.
Around 10 p.m., police went to the scene of a two-car crash on Belmont Street at the Stonehill College entrance. A 46-year-old driver was flown to Brigham and Women’s Hospital with serious injuries, while the three children in the car -- ages 10, 9 and 7 -- were brought to a local hospital with injuries that aren’t believed to be life threatening.
The driver of the other car in that accident declined treatment.
Around 10:30 p.m., police found a woman had been hit by a car in the parking lot in the area outside of Maguire’s Restaurant on 503 Foundry Street. They found the 26-year-old sitting on the curb with severe lower-leg injuries and she was flown to a Boston-area hospital.
The driver of the car fled the scene before police arrived, and they are investigating the incident as a possibly assault by means of a vehicle.
Police found that the two incidents are not related and both are under investigation.
Anyone who may have been in the area at the time or who has information can call the Easton Police Department at (508) 230-3322.
