BOSTON — Massachusetts Avenue in Boston has been reopened after a crash involving a police officer Tuesday afternoon.
A witness told Boston 25 News that around 2 p.m. in the area of Mass. Ave and Clapp Street, he saw a police officer rushing to a call when the cruiser hit a black SUV and then into the back of a parked tractor-trailer.

“The guys in the black car seemed to be merging out of the way as the cop was trying to swerve out,” witness Christian DeJesus. “He swerved into them and bashed himself into the truck.”

It’s still unclear what the police officer was responding to at the time of the crash.
Boston police told Boston 25 News that three people and the police officer all received injuries described as non-life threatening.
