LYNN, Mass — Two individuals have been arrested in connection with the brazen daylight shooting of a 15-year-old boy in March.
Christopher Cruz, 24, of Brighton, MA, and a 17-year-old Lynn juvenile have been charged with armed assault to murder and battery with a dangerous weapon after the 15-year-old victim was found on Fayette Street suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot injuries on March 21.
The arrests were made following an extensive investigation from the Lynn Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division and Gang Unit, Lynn police say.
Resident Billie Hukill found the teen lying in the street and quickly worked to apply pressure to his bullet wounds.
“He was asking me ‘please don’t let me die. Can I please have some water? ‘Please don’t let me die,’” Hukill recalled. “I said, ‘It’s OK honey. I called the ambulance. You’re not going to die. Just please lay very still while I hold your leg.’”
The boy was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
