18-year-old pleads not guilty to bringing loaded gun to school in Lynn

LYNN, Mass. — An 18-year-old has pleaded not guilty to bringing a loaded gun to a school in Lynn.

According to the Essex County District Attorney’s office, Malachi Wright-Godfrey, 18, was arrested by the Lynn Police Department and arraigned in Lynn District Court on Friday after he allegedly brought a loaded gun to Lynn Classical High School.

Godfrey is charged with six counts: carrying a loaded firearm without a license, carrying a dangerous weapon on school grounds, possession of a large-capacity firearm, carrying a firearm without a license, possession of ammunition without a firearm identification card, and assault and battery on a public employee.

He pled not guilty to all charges and was ordered held without bail, and is scheduled for a probable cause hearing on January 22.
