1 hospitalized after Boston school bus with students onboard collides with sedan, other parked cars

BOSTON — One person was taken to the hospital after a school bus with students onboard collided with another car and then crashed into a trio of parked cars in a Boston neighborhood on Tuesday morning, officials said.

Emergency crews responding to a report of a crash in the area of 325 Riverway in the city’s Mission Hill section around 7:45 a.m. found a Boston Public Schools bus had collided with a 2023 Toyota Camry Sedan. Three unoccupied and parked cars were also hit during the crash.

A passenger in the Camry, a 51-year-old Brockton woman, was transported to Beth Israel Hospital to be treated for minor injuries, Massachusetts State Police said. The bus driver, a 53-year-old Dorchester woman and two students on the bus, a 17-year-old and a 15-year-old, were evaluated and cleared at the scene.

The Camry’s driver, a 65-year-old Taunton man, was not injured.

A BPS spokesperson told Boston 25 that “five or fewer” students were riding on the bus when it crashed.

The bus and one of the parked vehicles, a crushed and crumpled Tesla, had to be towed from the scene. State Police cleared the scene at approximately 9:30 a.m.

The cause of the wreck wasn’t immediately clear and the bus driver is now the subject of an investigation, the spokesperson added.

Video from the scene showed state police, Boston fire, and ambulances assisting in the response.

Transportation company Transdev U.S., which overseas the bus involved in the crash told Boston 25 News they could not comment on an ongoing investigation but are cooperating with investigators.
