A Vietnam veteran from Winthrop made waves this past winter for sending care packages to servicemen and woman around the world. Now, he's back at it again.
The veteran, Richard Honan, recently sent a care package with a flag that flew at the Winthrop Beach breakwater to Winthrop's Beau Schlicting.
On Friday, Honan received pictures from Schlicting displaying the flag proudly on a mountain top in Afghanistan.

The American Legion Post had installed an 8' by 12' flag on the breakwater on May 17, along with the 4' by 6' flag that was sent to Schlicting.
