BOSTON — The man accused of stabbing a young woman jogging along Boston's Esplanade on Friday is being held without bail while he undergoes a mental health evaluation.
On Monday morning, a Suffolk County judge declined to arraign suspect Luis Olivo, 37, and instead ordered he be held without bail and be evaluated at Bridgewater State Hospital.
In court on Monday, a doctor said Olivo is acutely psychotic, a statement which was followed by the judge's decision to have Olivo evaluated before being arraigned.

Olivo is accused of stabbing a 23-year-old Allston woman in broad daylight while she was out for a jog. He was arrested after a short pursuit from police.
According to law enforcement, Olivo allegedly attacked the victim without a prior interaction, stabbing her in the head with a pair of scissors before tackling her to the ground on the bridge and striking her.
The scissors that police believe were used in the crime were recovered from Olivo during the arrest. Police say that one Trooper used his stun gun to help subdue the suspect.
The victim told police she had just finished her run when she found Olivo sitting on a bench talking non-stop. The woman said she took out her earbuds and told him to stop talking to her. According to police, that's when Olivo allegedly stabbed her.
Witnesses said Olivo was seen pulling on the woman's ponytail while she was down on the ground saying, "That's what you get".
Olivo is now expected to be arraigned during his next court appearance on July 19.
