Judge denies request to delay Quincy ambulance transition

QUINCY, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) - A judge has denied a motion to delay the switch of ambulance service providers in Quincy.

Incumbent company Fallon Ambulance filed a lawsuit against the City of Quincy and Brewster Ambulance after losing the city's lucrative contract.

Fallon claimed members of the bidding committee showed bias and favoritism toward their competitor, Brewster.

The judge determined there wasn't enough evidence to move forward with an injunction.

"We're not entirely surprised, we're clearly disappointed. But again we're going to continue to research our legal rights in the process, it doesn't end anything," Fallon Ambulance Vice President Peter Racicot said.

Brewster ambulance will officially start service in Quincy on July 1.
