BOSTON — Sunday, October 3 is the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk Your Way Day.
This year the Dana Farber and The Jimmy Fund are asking you to walk your way – in your neighborhood, with friends and family, anywhere at any time!
For the last 32 years, Boston has come alive with people walking along the marathon route to show their support and raise funds for the patients and families Dana-Farber serves. This Sunday, thousands will walk “their own way” to fight cancer and raise funds for cancer research and patient care.
Watch the inspiring stories from some of Dana Farber’s cancer survivors who are walking on Sunday:
- Boston 25 Anchor Vanessa Welch introduces us to one of the Jimmy Fund Walk’s youngster team members
- Anchor Heather Hegedus tells the story of a single mom who is officially in remission and conquering cancer with her son by her side
- Anchor Chris Flanagan got to know a local police chief who is a longtime supporter of Dana Farber and is now being treated by the hospital for his own cancer
