NEW YORK (MyFoxBoston.com)— Over 80 pieces from John Lennon's handwritten collection will be auctioned off at Sotheby's in New York on June 4.
Die-hard Beatles fans will have a chance to purchase these items for as low as $500 and as much as $70,000. Lennon's handwritten manuscript of "The Singularge Experience of Miss Anne Duffield" will be the most expensive item listed.
Richard Austin, Sotheby's Head of Books and Titles, said people should be interested in purchasing one of the 89 manuscripts and sketches because they show Lennon's personality and some of his work with Paul McCartney outside of music.
"There's also just a lot of very funny sketches, you really see Lennon's humor coming through in a lot of the artwork. He loved to draw these sorts of grotesque, fantastic characters, and you see a lot of those on display on the walls as well. It's something that when you go through, everyone seems to crack a smile when they start looking at the drawings,'' said Austin.
