BOSTON -- State police temporarily closed the ramp from the Expressway northbound to Freeport Street in Dorchester for what they called a "situation" at the gas tank.
Sky25 was over the scene around 4:15 p.m. and foam was visible on the ground near the tank.
The facility is operated by National Grid.
According to the Boston Fire Department an alarm was active at the scene, although the cause was unclear and gas meters in the area are showing safe readings.
National Grid spokeswoman Danielle Williamson told Boston 25 News this was a non-gas related incident that prompted the foam system to trigger "out of an abundance of caution."
