BOSTON — Aaron Hernandez's double murder trial got off to a late start Wednesday due to sick jurors. Though Hernandez's fiancée was expected to testify, the delay pushed backed Shayanna Jenkin's testimony.
Wednesday afternoon, a forensic consultant took the stand first. Michael Haag, who owns a forensic shooting reconstruction company, was hired by the Suffolk DA's office in 2015 to examine the number of shots fired in the deadly shooting of Safiro Furtado and Daniel de Abreu. The state says five shots were fired, while the defense says at least six.

According to Haag, a minimum of five shots were fired in the case. Haag said the first bullet went into Furtado's right temple and stayed there. The second bullet hit Furtado's upper right arm and exited his back. The third bullet hit the chest cavity of de Abreu.
Haag said one of the bullets struck Aquilino Freire's right forearm. Freire survived the shooting.
The fifth bullet hit Furtado at the right rear position of the head.
