BOSTON — With less than a month to go until the first recreational marijuana shops could open, we're learning about the applications the Cannabis Control Commission has received.
No official licenses have been issued yet, but the CCC has received 51 applications for retailers, manufacturers and research centers.
The applications are spread out across the state, with the most coming from Worcester County with 16 applications.
Bristol, Middlesex, Norfolk and Plymouth counties all had five applications each. Suffolk County had just two applications and the Berkshires County had one.
The CCC has received more than 51 applications, but only these applicants have submitted all of the required information.
