BOSTON — Tufts Medical Center’s free COVID testing site opened at 8 a.m. Tuesday to those in need of testing.
With wind chills making it feel below zero, many sites including Worcester’s Commercial Street testing site are closed.
People who need tests are asked to check the state’s “Stop the Spread” website to see if the one they intend to visit is open.
Please plan ahead and dress appropriately for extremely cold temperatures Tuesday. If you are going to our COVID-19 Testing Center at 276 Tremont St -- we are doing our best to test as quickly as possible, but long lines can develop outside. pic.twitter.com/QVLqT5LlMw

At 9 a.m., Gov. Charlie Baker is scheduled to make an announcement on testing in Massachusetts.
Last week, Boston 25 News reported that the state Department of Early Education and Care was planning to expand testing for workers and families that use the state’s 8 day care specific sites.
It is unclear if the state is planning to expand testing for the general public.
