Provincetown reports 220 positive COVID-19 cases among residents

PROVINCETOWN, Mass. — Provincetown announced Friday morning, July 30, a total of 220 cases among residents with 103 active cases within the town.

Town Manager Alex Morse told Boston 25 the total of cases is higher than 220 because some cases don’t have local addresses in Provincetown but have stayed to recover.

Morse added that among those 220 cases, 170 cases have been released or recovered from the virus. 73% of cases are among vaccinated individuals, while 89% are middle-aged men.

There has been an improvement in test positivity rates since surveillance of the Provincetown cluster began, from a peak of 15% on July 15 to a new low of 4.6% reported on July 29. No deaths have been reported from this cluster.

Outer Cape has also administered 110 vaccinations since July 1, and the Fall van has administered 54 vaccinations since they began offering the COVID-19 vaccine on July 14.
