Nor’easter postpones Reggie Lewis Center vaccinations, changes hours at other sites

BOSTON — The nor’easter in the forecast is presenting additional challenges to day one of Phase 2 in the state’s vaccination rollout. Starting Monday, residents who are 75 and older can begin receiving vaccines at sites across the state.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has declared a snow emergency and parking ban that takes effect at noon in Boston.

The Boston Public Health Commission announced on Sunday night that the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Roxbury will not be opening Monday as a mass vaccination site. All appointments scheduled for Monday have been rescheduled for February 8.

CIC Health, a Cambridge technology company running the two mass vaccination sites at Fenway Park and Gillette Stadium, is announcing the following changes for Monday.

Fenway Park

  • Opening one hour early at 8 a.m.
  • If you have an appointment between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., please try to arrive one hour early.
  • If you have an appointment between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m., please try to arrive between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. instead.
  • Please be patient upon arrival as we are doing our best to accommodate everyone.
  • If you cannot arrive early or would like to reschedule, you will be invited to do so via email.

Gillette Stadium

  • Opening at 8 a.m.
  • If you have an appointment scheduled after 3 p.m., you will receive an email to reschedule for a new appointment on Wednesday 2/3 through Sunday 2/7.
  • Please be patient upon arrival as we are doing our best to accommodate everyone.

“We want to disrupt the operations as little as possible. We want to try to get as many people vaccinated,” said Rodrigo Martinez, chief marketing and experience officer at CIC Health. “For those who have to reschedule, we have [the] flexibility to make sure we have availability to get them their vaccine within the next week or two.”

The incoming storm is presenting the potential of dangerous driving conditions later in the afternoon. Those who don’t feel comfortable or aren’t able to make it to their appointment can call the number on the email they should have received to reschedule.
