Lincoln-Sudbury delays in-person learning after students caught at large party

SUDBURY, Mass. — Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School has decided to delay in-person learning after police found 50 to 60 students not social distancing and not wearing masks at a large party Saturday night. The announcement came from the Town of Sudbury’s Board of Health.

There are currently no positive COVID-19 cases known among any of the students involved, officials said. Though the risk level was not able to be properly assessed because many students either fled or gave false information to police once law enforcement arrived at the scene.

“Due to lack of information of who attended the event and the inability to consult directly with those students, the risk to the school community cannot be adequately assessed,” the Board of Health wrote in their announcement.

It is not known if students from other towns were in attendance.

Both the school and the Sudbury Board of Health are advising those who attended the party to take COVID-19 tests and to notify officials if anyone begins to feel symptomatic.
