Johnson & Johnson single-shot vaccine doses arrive in MA

BOSTON — Doses of the newly-approved Johnson & Johnson vaccine have arrived in Massachusetts.

Officials at Tufts Medical Center say received 2,000 on Tuesday and they’re expected to start administering the single-shot vaccine to patients starting Thursday.

Boston Medical Center says they also received 2,000 doses Tuesday. Those will be administered starting later this week.

Mass. General Brigham says they’re prepared to receive the doses and administer later this week, as well.

On Monday, Johnson & Johnson shipped nearly 4 million doses from its facility in Kentucky. The company is planning on shipping 20 million doses by the end of March and 100 million by the end of June.

Boston 25 News has checked with other local hospitals to see if they too received the vaccine doses.
