Fitchburg Board of Health confirms 18 COVID-19 cases reported at local church

FITCHBURG, Mass. — A cluster of COVID-19 cases has been linked back to a Fitchburg church, health officials confirmed to Boston 25 News.

Around 18 cases of the novel coronavirus have been reportedly linked back to Crossroads Community Church in the city, according to Stephen Curry, the Fitchburg Director of Public Health.

The city said they have been working with the church to ensure it’s a safe and healthy space for attendees. The board of health is also interviewing the confirmed cases and providing contact tracing to prevent the virus from spreading any further.
