BRIDGEWATER, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Three correctional officers indicted for involuntary manslaughter in the death of a Bridgewater State Hospital patient.
It's a story FOX Undercover's Mike Beaudet broke three years ago, and we've been following ever since.
On May 4, 2009 Joshua messier died while several officers tried to restrain him to a bed. In video FOX25 obtained, you can see the incident unfold.
The indictments, handed up Thursday, came five days before the statute of limitations expired. Messier's death was ruled a homicide back in 2010. Last year, the Attorney General's office assigned a special prosecutor to investigate the case.
The three guards were fired last September.
