A former Massachusetts state trooper pleaded guilty to overtime fraud on Monday in federal court.
Gregory Raftery, a 47-year-old Westwood native, pleaded guilty on one count of embezzling funds from a state agency receiving federal funds.
Raftery admitted in his plea hearing that he was not present and didn't work hundreds of hours of overtime shifts in 2015 and 2016 that he was paid for by the Massachusetts State Police.
He admitted to frequently leaving overtime shifts early, and not working them at all on certain occasions.
Raftery said in 2015 he was paid over $24,000, and in 2016, he was paid over $30,000 for overtime hours he didn't work.
