Fatal Mass. Pike crash victims identified

FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (MyFoxBoston.com) -- Two people died in an early morning crash on the Mass. Pike in Framingham Wednesday.

The crash happened just after 5 a.m. on the eastbound side of the road near Route 9. A tractor trailer and a minivan were involved.

Troopers arrived to the scene to find the occupants of the minivan, 20-year-old William Barnett and 19-year-old Alyssa Grenier, deceased. They were both from Stafford Springs, Connecticut.

The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to the hospital with what were considered non-life threatening injuries.

Investigators believe the van spun-out and was then hit by the truck. The investigation is still ongoing, but rain and sleet may have been a factor in the crash.

SKYFOX was over the scene just after 8 a.m. The left lane and middle lanes of the road were blocked during clean up and investigation. It appeared the trailer's cargo had spilled onto the shoulder of the westbound side of the road.

Heavy delays of up to 18 miles were reported on the eastbound side.
