Everett's mayor seeks donations for survivors of deadly house fire

EVERETT, Mass. — Everett's mayor is asking for donations to help the survivors of a devastating triple-decker fire that claimed the lives of two women and left two families homeless.

Sunday night's fire destroyed the home on Madison Avenue.

"As a community we have always come together to help those in need," Mayor Carlo DeMaria said. "That is why once again I am asking our community to come together and donate newly purchased items, so these families can begin to rebuild their lives."

DeMaria included a list of donations being sought.

Donations can be dropped off at the Connolly Center at 90 Chelsea Street during regular business hours.

"If you have the opportunity and means to donate clothing to these fire victims in their time of need, it would be a great service and greatly appreciated," DeMaria said. "Even if you cannot donate much, every little bit helps."

DeMaria asked that only newly purchased items be donated.
