New York City, NY — Following a big day for football, on Monday night the infamous Empire State Building in New York City lit up in honor of the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots.
The Eagles clinched the NFC title in a 7-38 win against the Vikings while the Patriots beat the Jaguars 24-20, securing the AFC Championship title.
Both teams will now face off at the Super Bowl on February 5 at the U.S Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
“Congratulations to the @Patriots and the @Eagles, The AFC and NFC Champions! In honor of their upcoming trip to the big game our lights are now shining in their colors. Who will you be cheering for on February 4th?” the Empire State Building’s Twitter account wrote.

One side of the building was lit up in the Eagles' green and white while the other one was lit up in Patriots red and blue.
Reactions to the colors lighting the building were mixed, but in most part, it's safe to say New Yorkers were not happy to see the colors of their two biggest rivals lighting up to honor their upcoming Super Bowl match.
