The number of flu cases in Massachusetts continues to spike.
A new report from the Department of Health shows flu cases are up nearly 60 percent since this time last year.
The areas it is hitting hardest are central Massachusetts, the North Shore and South Shore.
There have been more than 1,000 reported cases in just the last week, meaning there are now more than 3,000 confirmed flu cases in the state.
