DORCHESTER, Mass. — Boston Police are investigating after four victims were found suffering from gunshot wounds.
Police responded to a call around 6:40 p.m. for a report of a person shot on Fayston Street.
As officers arrived, they found four victims with gunshot wounds, all appearing to be adult males.
Three were transported to the hospital, while the fourth went to the hospital on their own.
Three victims' injuries weren't deemed to be life-threatening, while one's were potentially life-threatening.
Boston Police Commissioner William Evans said the shooting was not likely gang related, as the ages of the victims were spread from 20's to 40's.
He said an argument at a party was resolved in the worst possible way.
"Instead of fighting with their hands, they pulled out guns and there was an exchange of gunfire," Evans said.
Evans said there was a Fourth of July party and a bouncy house with 25 children on it near the shooting, but no one was injured.
"It was just fortunate we didn't have a young kid hit by the crossfire," Evans said.
Eugene Braxton, a Fayston Street native of 20 years, said the street has a negative history.
Last year, he narrowly missed being killed when a stray bullet hit his house.
"I heard something, I ducked," Braxton said. "It came in, hit one of the pictures. It's still embedded in the wall."

Braxton said he doesn't go out after dark, saying it's too dangerous.
"They have guns," Braxton said. "So we stay in our house. It's getting dark, that's why I'm going in."
Police say the shooting is under investigation at this time.
