BOSTON — On the same day an MBTA bus hit and killed a pedestrian, a cyclist caught video of another bus blowing through a red light in Boston.
A 60-year-old woman was hit and killed in a Chelsea crosswalk early Thursday morning by an MBTA bus near the Tobin Bridge.
Friday morning, Twitter user Kyle Vining shared a video he said he took the same day of another MBTA bus running a red light near the Forest Hills T station.
Terribly saddened this morning to read of another pedestrian fatality on Boston streets near ramp to Tobin. Just yesterday, I filmed a bus speeding through an intersection at Ukraine Way near Forest HIlls. https://t.co/nu9omdga7l @BostonGlobe @MBTA @StreetsBoston @02130News pic.twitter.com/gKoqejo3M8

An MBTA spokesperson said bus operations supervisors were looking into the video.
The agency released a statement to Boston 25 News Friday morning saying, "This matter will be thoroughly investigated. All MBTA bus operators are trained to be fully prepared with the knowledge and skills necessary to safely operate a bus at all times. If anyone observes activity that is contrary to safe driving standards, the MBTA encourages the public to report it, and allow managers in the T’s bus division to investigate it."
Boston 25 News spoke with the cyclist who recorded the video. He tells us he is creating a safety group for their area. Residents with comments and concerns can email them at safestreetscitysouth@gmail.com.
