An injured paraglider was rescued after an accident on Sagamore Beach, according to the Bourne Police Department.
The department posted on Facebook at 5:46 p.m. Saturday, saying multiple agencies responded for the cliffside rescue.
Kevin Cannon said he was walking on the beach with his son Saturday, watching the paragliders above, when one of them crashed into the cliff as he was recording video.
"You could literally feel the impact from the sand," Cannon said. "He was out, it took him probably 25 minutes to move, which was totally scary."
Bourne Deputy Fire Chief Joe Carrara said his team performed a high-angle rescue to get the paraglider to safety, and it was all caught on camera.
"The concern would be that 5-10 minute loss of consciousness, any type of head injury, so he’s being evaluated," Carrara said. "The site there, we used three different trees we had to use as anchor points and effectively lower him safely on harnesses, stretcher and the patient."
Firefighters lowered the man on a stretcher down to the beach, and rushed him to the hospital.
The man's injured weren't believed to be life-threatening, but fire officials said they aren't sure how serious the injuries are. He is recovering at Beth Israel Hospital in Plymouth.
Carrara said it's a rare emergency, but something they train for.
"The firefighter paramedic that went down there graduated from Mass. Fire Academy yesterday, so he was very proficient in ropes," Carrara said. "He’s been doing that for 10 weeks, so this was a good call for him to be here today."
Cannon said it's not something he ever wants to see again, and said he hopes the paraglider makes a full recovery.
"Geez, I wasn't expecting that walk on the beach," Cannon said.

Bourne Police, Bourne Fire, Sandwich Fire, Barnstable County Tech Rescue Team and the Plymouth Fire Department all responded in the incident.
