AVON, Mass. — Two people died on Christmas in a multi-alarm house fire on Freeman Street, according to the Brockton Fire Department.

The State Fire Marshal's Office confirmed one person was transported to a local hospital with CPR performed as a result of the fire. The Avon Fire chief later confirmed two people died in the fire and a child suffered a minor burn injury to the foot.

He said the home was fully involved upon arrival, and there was no word on whether or not the child was inside the home when he was injured.

A Boston 25 News photographer was at the scene as flames engulfed the home, with the front window completely blown out and smoke coming out of the home. Multiple fire crews responded to the scene.

There was no word on the cause of the fire. The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
